Blindly Reviewing my (mostly) unlabeled decant order - A Noobs Perspective
I picked up a decant order from someone over in the fragranceswap sub, and during shipping one of the bottles leaked a little bit and it messed up the labels. But I always order anything I like a few times before I grab a full bottle, and fortunately I loved all of these, at least a bit, so I wasn’t even stressing about it.
Now I’m not the best at depicting specific notes, or any of that, so don’t judge my terrible review descriptions lol. Here’s what was included in the order:
LV Imagination, ex nihilo blue talisman, Xerjoff la Capitale, Accento, Torino 21, Torino 22, Erba Pura, Penhaligon Halfeti, Roja Elysium, Mind Games Blockade, Sosprio Vibrato. Plus 2 random bonuses the seller through in, I told him to surprise me. I’m very surprised lol.
Now I have no idea which is which, except for 2 of the Xerjoff. But here are my thoughts on all of them.
1 - Solid 9, smells amazing, very fresh very clean, maybe a slight citrusy smell, but also kind of woodsy. I’m a fan, could see myself wearing it frequently. Smells very familiar, maybe sampled this before? Smells even better if after it sits. 9.5.
2 - Very citrusy, reminds me heavily of that bottle of Turathi Blue I recently finished. But a bit fresher, and a bit higher quality. Less synthetic. Solid 8-8.5
3 - This just smells extremely fresh and clean, but like softly. Very subtle. after it sits for a few minutes almost lightly smells like fruit loops. lol solid 8.5
4 - Another really fresh, really clean, slightly citrusy scent. Did I just order a bunch of the exact same style of scents? Maybe I ain’t even mad. 8.5
5 - Loud pepperminty kind of opening, kind of hard to describe from there, but honestly I’m bad at describing smells anyway. But jeeeez, I love this one. Solid 9, maybe 9.5. After it sits for a bit definitely a 9.5 maybe even 10.
6 - Very lemony, almost aventus-y.. a bit too much lemony opening. not bad. Ooh much better after the lemon calms down. 7.5-8ish much more aventus-y after it sits too.
7 - Yeah these are almost all just amazing freshy/citrusy smells, and I’m loving every single one of em. 8.5
8 - Part of me is starting to wonder if the labels were messed up on purpose, and these are all just the same scent. 🤣🤣 This one almost starts to smell like some quality orange fabreeeze after it sits for a minute. Solid 7
9 - This one smells like the epitome of what I imagine the perfect spring day smells like. 8.5
10 - This one reminds me of either creeds silver mountain water, or virgin island water, can’t remember which one it is, but it smells like that, but like an extremely soft, almost hard to smell version. Very pleasant, but barely noticeable. Solid 8
11 - This one smells a bit more like… woodsy? But kind of like a spicy woodsy. Smells… familiar, but also very unique. Really like this one. 9.5
12 - Xerjoff La Capitale - smells very sweet and fruity, really enjoy this one. 9.5 wow, love it even more after it sits for a while. Honestly, this one might be a 10 for me.
13 - Xerjoff Accento - Really fresh and fruity, really like this one. Solid 9
